I start with a 1"x 4"x 4" blank

I get most of my pot call blanks from Bell Forest Products.

If you are on Facebook there are quite a few guys who have the higher end woods like burls and such.

I cast my own colored plastic pots out of Alumalite.

7/8" or more is good. 3/4" gets a little snug. DBros woods has great blanks and great service. Check local hardwood suppliers also.
