Nova g3

Can you chuck up an insert in the inner part of the jaws on the nova g3 like where it threads on to the spindle.... can't seem to find that info. Thought that would work to drill instead of having a seperate collet chuck.

You can chuck it up there but you will have no stability to keep the insert centered up while drilling because you are going to have to pull the bit out several times while drilling.

Try one and I think you will find out more for yourself. If you have turned the insert between centers you will have a center point to start with but otherwise you will have no idea where center is at.
