Cedar and orange grunt call with orange guts. A guy called up and wanted a deer call from a piece of cedar he had. I told him to bring it out. The board was about 1 1/4" thick, a foot wide and four feet long filled with some beautiful grain. Since it wasn't very thick we went through several combinations of other woods until he found one he liked. He told me that this was the last piece of cedar from his grandpa's farm. When he was a kid, he would go with his grandpa and uncle up north in the panhandle of Nebraska and cut cedars. His grandpa would take them to the mill, have them cut, banded and loaded in his pickup. They would then stack them in an old barn to dry. His grandpa sold a lot of the cedar and made a few things from what he kept. It's too bad this is the last piece. I thought it was really pretty wood. Thanks for looking.
