New to call making
« on: November 05, 2016, 06:45:09 AM »
Hello I am fairly new to call making. Have been doing it for about two years. Oh age been trying to do it on my own, but finally decided to ask for help. My issue is with the toneboards for a Louisiana style call. I have no jig or anything like that. Have just been eyeballing. Was wondering if anyone had any tips for length of tone board and length and depth for tone channel. I am not planning on selling any of my calls, just making them and passing them out to a few of my hunting partners. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

Search for "toneboards" on the call making page. Plenty of info there.

As far as "eyeballing" a toneboard goes; a good set of calipers and a notebook will be your best friends.  Any adjustments on a toneboard are measured in thousandths of an inch.  Consistency is a must when trying to figure the why questions.
