Lonely mule deer

I was on my way home and this little guy was tending a doe which had decided to lay down right next to the highway.  I was able to take pictures from about 50 feet away without either of them becoming alarmed.

Nice looking little 8 point. I think the know when season is in or out. A few years back my wife and went to the smokies. While there we went to Cades Cove and the deer would almost let you  touch them. Saw several black bear also one of them looked like it was as big as my HHR...
