JP's blanks
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:42:53 AM »
I recently got a couple blanks from JP@soggybottomgamecalls. I turned one of these for myself and I sent the other back to him. Both calls are titanium over slate with the center of the pot incorporated into the striker handle. This material was a breeze to turn and as you can see polished up very well.

The titanium is a little different than aluminum but not too much. I honestly do not like the acrylic tipped strikers. Looks great but doesn't sound great. They seem to give off a thick, dead sound. But run a wood striker across it and it sings that sweet hen sound we all strive to hear from our call. I sent JP a hedge striker I made but purple heart is my go to.

I normally put 8 holes around the bottom of my pots. But the acrylics are so loud I dropped back to 6. Anybody interested in buying a blank send me a PM and I'll get you some prices.
