Overcasting or double casting
« on: September 14, 2013, 09:11:16 PM »
Sorry for the terminology, I'm not sure what it is actually called. But has anyone cast a pre bored blank and but a decal on it at say a 1" dia, then cast clear over it to 1.5" dia. I have some ideas for calls but I'm curious if it has been done and how durable it is. I looked on some the pen making sites and it has been there just curious what folks thoughts are and if yall have any suggestions or advice on this process.

I am in the process of clear casting some barrels with our state flag on a 3/4 rod then clear cast over it with clear resin.  you must use a pressure pot

I'm interested in this also . Do you have any pointers on how to do it ? How do you keep it centered ?
