Oh wow, Dave.  That carving really stands out from the background!  I see the brushes, and assume you are using them for the final painting.  Do you start with an airbrush?

When I first started painting calls I only used brushes.  Then I started playing around with airbrushes.  Now I try and use the airbrushes as much as I can, and save the minutest details for the fine liner brushes.  When the airbrushes are working well, they are a pleasure to use.  When they are not, then it is a pain.  There are cheap airbrushes, and expensive ones.  A person only has to try them to find out why the pros use the higher quality ones.
