Cherry tone board?

Does cherry make a decent tone board or should I sleeve it?

It's better than poplar but still runs out flat. I would sleeve it unless it's intended to be run in an area you might typically run cedar.

Look for the heartwood of black cherrywood, with some burly curl to it . . . it will surprise a lot of folks with its full run, volume and ducky sound.
