ABW & Buckeye Burl
« on: July 13, 2016, 10:14:15 AM »
ABW and purple dyed buckeye burl with aluminum inlays in my what’s becoming my favorite shape.  Skewed flutes on both barrel and insert.  The purple wasn’t as dark throughout the BEB as I would’ve liked.  But, in hand, you can see light purple tints.

Great looking call James!  One of these days I'd love to do a trade.

Very Nice....

Do you turn the aluminum inlays down with your regular wood working lathe tools and just sand/CA finish as normal?

I sure do, Chris.  Once the inlays are glued in I just turn it like it's a solid chunk of wood.  Sand and finish to your preference.
