Nice wood combo Jack. Another very nice call.

A constructive comment on your reed material: I have found that 0.005 bronze is a marginal reed material. It will not hold tune at least a reed from the roll I have won't.  Bought it from Amazon who now owns "Small Parts"( full hard bronze shim stock). Just too thin/soft.

I use 0.008 bronze from the hobby shop when I want to use a bronze reed. It is a little harder to tune but will last. I use 0.005 stainless slim stock as a standard reed material. It does not corrode and holds tune well.

A lot of original Reelfoot calls have 0.006 or 0.007 bronze reeds but the material is impossible to find in small quantities. If you find a source please share!

Thanks for the positive comments! Fred, thanks for the information about the reed material.I will keep a lookout for some 0.006 or 0.007 phosphor bronze material! I got material from MacMaster Carr,it came from Lyon Industries! Jack
