Lost Squirrel Call
« on: October 18, 2015, 02:02:46 AM »
60 years ago I used to have a squirrel call named "Sqacky". Not sure if the spelling is correct. The call was made of wood and was about 4" long and about 1" square and open on one end. It was split down the center and was held together on one end by 2 thru-bolts. In the split was a thin piece of brass that was of the same width as the box but 1/8" longer and protruded from the open end. The  squirrel sound was produced by gripping the call close to the open end with one hand and with your other hand drawing another piece of brass that was approx. 1/8" thick x 1" wide x 3" long. One edge had fine notches and the other edge had coarse notches along the entire length. One edge for grays and the other edge for fox squirrels. I would to find one like it to purchase.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated

I see them pop up every now and then on eBay but the rod is usually missing
