Jet 1221 tool rest
« on: August 01, 2015, 10:34:40 AM »
What kind of tool rest do you guys use on your Jet 1221?  I just bought a new Jet 1221 during the Woodcraft sale and found that the tool rests from my Rikon are too tall.  The tool rests that came with the Jet are  long, 6" and 10", and I find myself using a 4" and 6 inch rest a lot more that the longer ones.

I've always chucked the 12" ones too.  Just no need for it.  The shorter one that comes with it has always been adequate for me, although it could be an inch or two shorter and I'd get along with it fine.  You could easily cut the factory ones shorter with a grinder and cutoff wheel to make them a length to suit you without having to spend any money.
