Humidity & Goop
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:05:54 AM »
This has probably been covered but I couldn't find it...Anyway, how much will high humidity slow down the cure time of Goop and E6000 glue? back in the winter and spring usually after 10-12 hours of cure time I could run the calls and they sounded good. But lately the same 10-12 hours and they have the flat/dead sound like when the goop isn't fully cured..Btw, My dehumidifier has a 1.5 gallon tank and I have to empty it twice a day.
Thanks!

Sometimes I glue outside in my garage and it takes a lil while longer for mine to get the intended sound as well. I pretty much quit gluing anywhere other than in the house, and let dry.

Thanks! I've found that moving them from the shop to the house with the AC kicking and pulling moisture from the air, it cures much faster! Also the finish is drying quicker in the AC!
