Here's another laminated pot. Cherry with walnut lamination, velvet oil finished with matching walnut/cherry striker.

Mr. Lon,
Sorry for not replying sooner but haven't had much time lately. It's no secret, I must share because if not for this site and people sharing I couldn't have gotten as far as I have! I use a 3" hole saw on a 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" X 1/4" thick piece of walnut to cut the inside of the lamenting wood. Make sure you sand the side of the walnut that goes against the cherry to make a good fit. I then take the cherry blank and used a parting tool to cut a 1/4" wide shoulder that the ID of the walnut would fit. Glued it up with tightbond 2, clamp for a hour, allowed to dry 24 hours, then turn to your desired shape. When things slow down some I'll try and put together a tutorial. I hope this helps.

So if I understand you right you basically make two round walnut "Washers" with an OD of 4" plus or minus and an ID of 3" plus or minus to fit over tenons cut in a Cherry slab. I think I get it, thanks. Way to think out of the box! If you glued a different wood to the cherry before cutting the tenons a third or fourth wood could be introduced. Thanks for getting me thinkin again!
