slate for pot call
« on: January 25, 2020, 01:53:49 AM »
I am playing around with a pot style call which has an unusual shape and sized slate. The slate I have is in its "natural" state with ripples that make it difficult to consistently use a striker on. Does anyone know if I can sand it down it or otherwise manipulate the top layer for a more uniform surface? I would use a standard available circle slate from one of the usual suppliers but it won't fit this particular shaped call.

I asked some tile guys and they said essentially the same thing and suggested using a grinder.  Will give it a try. Thank you for taking the time to respond
