cast turkey pot blanks?

(1/3) > >>

jcz:
Does anyone here cast blanks for turkey calls? I know at one time Spitfire did some. I was able to get one from him and it turned pretty good. Would like to get a few more if any one is pouring them.

VECtor Calls:
I would think Palmetto would be able to do it for you.

Brett@BBOGGC:
I have done several upon request with all cast and some mixed with wood, acorns, corn, coffee beans, banksia pod, etc. I think the reason you do not see many is the cost since it takes a lot of resin to cast a turkey pot blank versus pen's or duck call blanks.

Joe Short:
By volume, a standard 1.5x1.5x7 duck call blank is almost as much as a 4x4x1 pot call blank. 15.75 vs 16.... Shouldn't be too much more if costing by material requirements honestly.

David @ Mad Duck Game Calls:
Yep... Joe is right. If you cast them both as a "Cylinder" (dowel) the volume for a 4" dia x 1" thick pot blank would be 12.56, and the volume of a 1.5" dia x 7" duck call blank would be 12.36. Only .20 difference, which is not much......
