Gold ink pen
« on: June 01, 2015, 10:06:24 PM »
Been using Pigma Micron for years on calls with CA
finish. Unless I just haven't seen it, I have only found
them in black. I have a call that I am going to dip in spar
or spray with can laquer. I need to write on it in gold.

I got a silver pen from Michaels a few years ago. I'm sure hobby lobby would have them also. This pen is not a pigma micron. It just writes in silver. I haven't seen it in a long time so I can't tell you exactly what brand it was.

What finish did you put over it?

Spray spar. Only used it on dark wood. I don't remember trying CA over it. Don't think I used it since I started doing a Ca finish. I switched over to an engraver a few years back and haven't used it since.

I use a gold sharpie paint pen.  Once it dries I ca over it.

Thanks for the input! I am not going to CA the call, but use either dipped spar or sprayed laquer.........I dont have any experience with this type of finish over a sharpie.......do you all think it will effect it even if its good and dry before I put  either one of these types of finish on the sharpie?  Sorry for the "dumb" questions....never tried this before.

I'm pretty sure if you let the pen ink dry before dipping you will be good to go. If you decide to go the spray route you are good too.

I initial and date my calls inside the barrel after finishingh.  Then dab some ca over the sig (dry) with a q tip to keep it from wearing off.
