Another Maple Reelfoot

I keep fooling around with fancy maple  and working with the stain and finish.  Here is my latest attempt.

That looks real good, is that leather dye, if so it can look good but is a pain to get it to look like that one does.

Yes, that is a medium brown leather  dye. Two coats if I remember correctly then rubbed back with a mineral spirits damp paper towel.  Sealer plus a couple coats of tru-oil.
