Aluminum grunt call...
« on: September 24, 2014, 08:22:37 PM »
Yes, I really did make an ALUMINUM grunt call!! I am warning you now, don't EVER do this!! It took me over 7 hours to make this, not counting the time it took to make the aluminum toneboard, twice.....  I might even have to make another one, but not now... lol.  It's the same size as my standard grunts, it just weighs ALOT more!!

It looks scratched up in the pics but it really isn't....
Thanks for lookin'!

David

Wow, David... I'm impressed!  Looks great!  And just think, when you call in that deer, you can use your grunter to beat him into submission!  LOL

Yep! It sucks to turn! I tried all of my tools, every angle I could think of and every speed on the lathe, NOTHING helped!!!

If you really want a shine go to Harbor Freight and buy their aluminum buffing kit.  http://www.harborfreight.com/14-piece-aluminum-polishing-kit-98707.html

The good news is you can get a shine like it's a mirror.  The bad, it is not a wood buffing kit you need different compounds and the wheels are not the best either.
