The burl parts look good. The ebony looks like you wet sanded through it. How many coats you using? What grits do you wet sand?

I use between 8 and 15 coats of CA. Once it has cured out for a couple hours or over night, I start wet sanding at 1000 then 1500 then 2000. If I have a really bad run line I will briefly hit it only in that spot with 800. It doesn't take much time to go through the Ca. Use plenty of water and keep the paper moving.
When I'm done I hit it with Hut plastic polish.

Michael...my method:

Sand 220-320
Ca grain fill at 320
Sand 320-600
Apply ca 8-12 layers
Wet sand from 400-2000
Buffing wheel with white diamond

Usually does the trick for me.

There are several ways to do CA finishes, read up on them and test the different methods.  Some work for everyone, others take pieces and parts of other people's methods and arrive at their own way of doing it.  I use a method based on a friend's method, he is a penturner, they are the ones that perfected CA finishes.   Sometimes reading the other methods will make it all come together and success will follow.
