3" Cocobola Pot
« on: August 17, 2014, 04:18:28 PM »
Below is a 3" cocobolo aluminum/glass with a cross cut cocobolo laminated to stabilized antler striker head and a cocobolo peg. Both are finished with CA.

 Very nice. Two of my favorite things, coco & CA finish.  :2up:

I've got to learn how to do a CA finish on a pot. My attempts always look like ripples on the back.

Thanks for the nice comments. Hey Jack, slow your lathe way down and work your CA from the outside toward the center slowly only on the half of the bottom closest to you. This will help you overcome the centrifugal forces that causes the little ripples.

Wayne, the slowest speed on my lathe is 250 rpm and that is what I've tried it at. I use thin CA and work outside - in, Maybe I put too much CA on my paper towel.

Anyway seeing the calls that you and others are finishing w/CA makes me keep trying and someday I'll get it figgered out.
