 Now, having said that, the real answer is it depends. I don't use gutserts at all in my calls, but I do add a ring of thread and CA that acts to re enforce the tenon and keep it from splitting when you jam the guts in tight. On stable materials like Acrylic, Delrin, and Micarta you can get away without something to strengthen that tenon, but with stabilized wood does need something to stabilize it in most cases.

That's really cool thank you I just didn't want to buy stablized wood and find out it didn't work without a cert. thanks again for sharing that.
