some of my recent whistles
« on: July 26, 2014, 05:30:12 PM »
It has been quite some time since I've posted pics of the whistles I've been building.  Here are a bunch of them.

Crosscut stabilized spalted sycamore.

This is marigold acrylic from Bear Tooth.  I call it the clown whistle.  Ugly as sin, but the customer loves it.

These are Texas ebony.  This really is one of my favorite woods.

These are my CNC'd whistles in black.  These are a pretty new thing for me and have sold so fast I can hardly keep them in stock.

One of my best customers' orders (prior to being oiled).

Stabilized redwood burl.

Thanks Tyson!

Here are some more.

Gray acrylic with orange acrylic mouth end and toneboard.

A hand-turned gray acrylic and a black CNC'd acrylic.  Both have been media blasted.

Orange and black stabilized box elder burl.

Stabilized black ash burl and vasticola burl.  These are currently en route to Italy.

You're stabilized burl calls will always be a favorite. Orange and black stabilized BE is absolutely sick!

These are all awesome.  Agree with Tyson about the orange and black beb, and that sycamore is sweet, too. Gonna have to get one of your whistls one of these days!

Its about time you got busy making some calls.  :hysterical:   :pot:

I wish you could see the look on my face.  My tired, sawdust-covered 1:30am face that just came up from the shop.     Glad I love doing it, because if I didn't I might have a nervous breakdown.
