Here is a Verawood (Argentinean lignum vitae) Call I made. I really like this stuff, for the price it is very dense and oily. I want to make some goose guts with it, I've made duck call toneboards with it before and they sounded awesome! Plus the grain has a really sweet "fiber" look to it. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking

I love that wood, but I always have trouble with the finish peeling off after a couple of months. That stuff is like 50% oily resing by weight.

 Nice looking call!

Yeah it is incredibly oily, what kinds of finish have you had trouble? I have made a few of these in the past year with CA finish and haven't noticed that? Thanks for the compliments!

I've used CA on a few, but they are the calls that have chipped off. I'm thinking of trying the new thinned epoxy on one just to see if it works better for me.

That is probably a good idea! All of the Verawood I have used is from Argentina but I think it can come from all over South and Central America. That could be another difference?

Thanks for sharing your experiences though it is something I will have to keep my eye on!
