Had a similar issue with woodcraft. bought a piece that looked like that a while back. They said it was Queenwood. Looked all over the best I found was that it looked like spalted padouk

Wish I lived around there, I'd go pick that piece up!  Sapwood is awesome and I always have trouble finding some.
