Blue water ribbon whistle
« on: September 10, 2013, 01:19:13 AM »
I got a couple blanks of that blue water ribbon acrylic and tried a whistle from it.  I'm digging it.  Building see-through whistles is a nightmare, but it came out pretty clean.

I've seen this stuff a number of times but nobody will say where they get it, even when asked.  So I apologize (not really) ahead of time to anyone and everyone that may take offense to me divulging the source, but this is THO and nothing irks me more than crickets when people ask where to get a material.  Not to mention, the service from this guy was awesome and he has a huge selection of really cool poured blanks.

All sarcasm aside, I do apologize for buying the last of his blue ribbon blanks.   :devil2:  I want to get my hands on some of the orange ribbon blanks, as they look really cool.  Backordered....

Nice work man!  Looks great!  I have always wondered what has taken so long for companies/folks to make these fancier blanks in sizes larger than pen size.

Beautiful call bro. I found his site a few months ago but that stuff was always on back order. Looks like I should have paid more attention. You did an awesome job on that one

That whistle is crazy cool! Do you plan on hunting it, or is it for somebody else? It should turn some heads regardless. Happy to see somebody is giving the resource to those blanks... I've seen them but never really thought about who made them. ~Andre'

Thanks Aaron,  I was going crazy trying to find some of this type of acrylic also. I found it at a place here in Dallas at woodworld. It is stopper blanks and is 13.50 for a 7.5'' piece. I bought some grey and orange with a little red called lava. I also got some lime and dark green. They said they could get custom orders filled if I wanted a specific color combo at the same price. And your right. I have learned more than I will ever be able to repay on this forum and have never met any of you guys. Any question I have asked has been answered with out reservation and to hold back something like where to get acrylic would seem very selfish. I may not share customers names or like that but this is a no brainer. I saw the limited edition meat hanger echo calls on ebay awhile back and couldn't sleep till I found this at W.W. I may screw it up but now I know where to replace it.lol. I was hoping to get to the contest in Oct. but I have a litter of 11 lab pups I hope to take to a big trade days the same weekend. At 450 to 500 each I think I will be a salein' puppies. Maybe next time.
