Delta 4 jaw
« on: August 08, 2013, 12:48:33 PM »
I stopped in Rockler this afternoon as I was in the area.  You fellas know how that is.

I have been considering getting a 4 jaw chuck for some time.  On the sale table they had this for 50% off the sticker.  A cool $76 later (80 and change with sales tax) I snagged it.  Before I get too excited.... Did I do good on this?  Not just price but will it accept other jaws for nova g3 chucks?

Yea it should as long as there the same model jaws as the chuck you purchased. You can normally get them from 20-40$ individually. I wouldn't know what to do without mine! Great score aswell!

I have the same chuck for my Rikon70-100.  It has been a good chuck.  Holds well and I like the key it uses to tighten the jaws versus the two bars.  I just ordered a set of nova pin jaws and they work perfectly on the chuck.  The nova jaws will work with this chuck.  This chuck differs slightly from the G3 that with the insertion of the set of screws, it can be run in reverse on a lathe like the variable speed delta.  I never use that feature but the chuck is worth it.  Basically you stole it!  I've used the worm screw and you can remove the jaws and use the small sliding jaws to hold small square or round peices up to one inch.  Also the jaws         That are included have serrated jaws to hold and not smooth like the G3.  Good find
