I have no clue what I'm doing or what I'm exactly looking for...... I feel like a newb.... Well, cuz I am.. But I literally just heard of "green hedge" like a week ago, and didn't know it was any good. Could I have some help in identifying it? And sources of it? How to tell if its green hedge or just rotted wood?

All help is appreciated and might be reward able with some of the treasure I harvest  :2up:

Best I can tell you is look for old fence rows and old corner post...if not in use... cut off a small piece and see if you have any yellow coloring...if so pull it up and see if you have green.  Worst case scenerio you have some really nice old bois d arc blanks........but you are in the right area for green.  Good luck

Too bad cedar won't do that.  Everyone around here uses cedar post.

I have about 4 miles of fence, all cedar posts.  The good thing about cedar is I know they will be there a longtime after I am gone.  I would hate to pay $8000 a mile to replace the fence.
