Pine for pot calls

im thinking about turning out some pine pot calls to have them dipped in camo. how does pine sound in relation to hardwood?

I can't answer the sound question but I think poplar would be a better choice. It will turn & sand smoother & is a little harder than pine. Just my  :2: FWIW.  :wav1: :wav1:

I have made a few pots out of pine in the past.  They turned out REALLY mellow.  I'd skip it. 

I agree with Hamer that poplar would serve you better for this project.
