First put your reed between your index finger and thumb. Put slight pressure on the reed this will tell you what side of the reed goes up. The side that cups goes up and I mark it with a sharpie. Then the second thing is you need to open up the front of the tone board slightly. So when the reed is place on the tone board you have a gap. File lightly a few strokes then try the call. If it is still sticking file a little more then try it. Divide the tone board from the back of the cork notch to the end in thirds then only work the front third being careful to not make a ridge in your tone board.  :2:
