Two times of the year

There's two times each year that I get REALLY pumped about being a call maker, and that's when the turks really start gobbling, and RIGHT NOW.....when the bucks start chasing the does and get aggressive.

Folks have been having some REALLY great success lately with calling bucks in with my calls, and you can't get the smile off of my face!   ;D

I called my first one of the year in Saturday morning to 20 yards, but he was just a dink.  Still fires me up every time a buck comes in LOOKING FOR ME. 

So far this year, 9 bucks have been called in and killed as the result of a VECtor being used!  And that's in 5 states!  3 kids, and one guy with his first archery deer (a WONDERFUL 10 pointer).  There's been several more close encounter hunts that I've gotten to hear about.

November 15th is the beginning of our rifle season, and that is when things will really get wound up.  I CAN'T WAIT!   :D  Good times will be had by all!

I'm leaving tonight to go on a 2-day hunt with a friend of mine that's in a wheel chair.  He's still looking for his first bow kill, and we hope to get it done Wednesday morning, so wish us luck!   ;)

Wow, sounds like your calls are putting a hurtin on the bucks. That's great. And good luck to your buddy.

 ;)  Plenty of pictures!  We're taking a full body buck decoy with us, so I'm hoping to at least get some action pictures of that thing getting smashed.   ;D

 ;D  I was going to report yesterday that the buck count is up to 11, but I didn't get a chance......well......as of this morning, I see it is NOW up to 14! Three REALLY great bucks were taken with the help of one of my calls just yesterday. 

I'm heading out to the woods this morning to see if I can add another one to the list.  You can read about the buck that almost was for me a couple evenings ago in the deer hunting section. 

The rut is REALLY kicking in around here.  LOTS of people are calling bucks into bow range.  The rifle season goes by closing two days before Thanksgiving, so this year, that happens to put it a week later than 'normal', so this week will be a AWESOME week for bowhunters here in MO!

 :o  THREE MORE TODAY!  I think the total is up to somewhere around 18 on the year!   :o

I scored one of them today at 154 4/8" gross. 

Sure would like to score one of my own.....Rain all day tomorrow though.
