Couple of firsts for me

A couple of weeks ago I had a customer contact me and asked if I could do a matched set of pot calls in ambrosia maple for his sons. Of course since turkey calls are my thing I told him yes. Then in the same breathe he said he wanted a matched set of duck calls for his sons as well also in ambrosia. This presented a couple of problems for me. One, I didn't have any nice looking ambrosia on hand. This was easily solved by getting in touch with Mark at Dbroswoods. Mark set me up with some killer looking ambrosia. Two, I have never done a duck call (heck I don't even duck hunt). So here is the result of my latest call making adventure. Ambrosia Maple with aluminum bands from shell creek and smoke DRT echo inserts. If these calls closely resemble anyone else's style I truly apologize. I can promise you the shape came solely from inspiration from the hundreds of outstanding calls posted on here.

You did a great job.  That shows great faith in your abilities by your customer.  To me that says more than anything.  Keep making duck calls like that and you will definitely be making more.
