Finish ?????
« on: April 24, 2012, 09:23:07 PM »
I was watching some videos on YouTube. It was Carl Jacobson turning some calls. When he sands he use beeswax. And then finishes the call with it. My question is how durable is the beeswax? I liked the look of it alot, just wondering about the durability. Thanks guys. Waylon.

I tried it ONCE...Im sure its fine on woods like Cocobolo...because its so oily that it really doesnt even have to have a finish..left a flat finish...I WOULD NOT recommend using it on something that you will be selling...as a gift or for yourself fine, as it will wear...Like I said I used it ONCE and there was a reason for that, but that is just my  :2:, everyone has different things they prefer, and it sure isnt wax for me.

It would be fine over an oil finish first , but just by itself it wouldn't provide much protection..
