JB weld. I cut a few grooves in the tenon with a dremel.

I use GOOP for hidden stuff like that too, because it isn't going to let go, and is gummy to where hot and cold won't allow it to let go.

JB Weld is all I use on my aluminum and PVC gutserts.  Like JCZ said, it helps to cut grooves in in the wood and in the aluminum to really give the JB Weld something to grab.

Do you use it to glue the bands on, also?

Yes most of the guys use JB weld to glue their bands on but most also use a press fit.     Mark

Thanks! I've been using epoxy, but was wondering if there were better alternatives.

Learned my lesson on epoxy a long time ago.  It now has no place in my calls!

Does epoxy just let go after a while or is it just not durable enough?

There's a lot of epoxies out there, but I had a little trouble with bands coming loose on me using the 5 minute two part stuff.  That could have been attibuted to a lot of things like moisture content of the wood, preparation of the mating surfaces, tightness of the fit, etc.  But the JB Weld does not let go no matter what, and it is the exact same process to put it on the band and call so for me it is a no-brainer.
