I adjusted my sound holes down to 3/8 and my pedestal is now no wider than 1 1/4 outside diameter.  My soundboard distance is now a constant 2/32 or 3/32 every time.

I am getting descent sound and the rollover is starting to be there every time.  The only issue i have is that instead of playing the outer edge of the call, like most are, i have to move in about 3/4 of an inch to find the rollover.

I appreciate everyone's advice and have taken everything everyone has said into consideration and have been using it in my experimentation.

I apologize if it looked like i was ignoring what anyone was saying, i re-read your post dozens of times before i went to make a call and appreciate everyone who has chimed in.

I am by no means an expert but I thought I would throw a wrench in the discussion.  My sound board pedestal outside diameter is just under 2 inches for slate calls and just over 2 inches for glass calls.  I feel like my calls sound pretty good for having only done this for about a year.  I will let you all be your own judges though.  Here is a couple links to some audio of my calls on youtube.

There is a lot of good pot call reading material in this thread. I am going to give it a bump and move it to the tutorials.
