Trade call for Stumpjumper
« on: March 09, 2012, 12:06:20 AM »
Stump hit me up to do a trade a while back, as he wanted a duck whistle.  I'm getting the better half of the deal, as he's making me a gold digger.  His whistle is Arizona desert ironwood.  He requested an oil finish, so she's coated with a couple applications of tung oil and buffed.  I made the toneboard from ironwood as well.  Stump wanted it to take very little air to run, and I think he'll find that I met that request.  This one sounds sweeeeeet.  Stump I want to see this thing hanging on your lanyard with one of those pink feather boa pics you're famous for!

Got the whistle today.  Now for the honest feedback part

1.  Fit and Finish are perfection!!!!!  ALL holes in her are clean as can be, all glue was laid in perfectly with no smear or build up, and the call itself is as smooth as a babies butt with NO SAND LINES. SCORE=10+
2.  Sound is out of this world!  Ive spent a small fortune on whistles to find one that can replace my TSalt (want it to simply stay in the collection as it means alot to me), and now I have the pefect one.  She can hit perfect pitch when blown soft and stay on pitch when hammered.  Teal is crisp and quick, widgeon just flows, mallard drake has great depth and grunt, and pintail rolls like butter SCORE=10+

Straight up here...I do not sing the praise of a call unless it is deserved.  Even if its a friends call I am completly honest.  Yes Im a hard judge..... but fair.  If it sucks....it sucks plain and simple.  But when I find a call that is flat out BA I tell everyone.  And Aaron, my brother, this is THE BEST whistle I have even ran boss!!!!!  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy and Giddy

You are both talented call makers, Aaron, I can say after using your whistle this year it also lead to the demise of many a mallard. Very nice trade.
