Crotch wood cutting?
« on: March 04, 2012, 05:38:19 PM »
I picked up a couple pieces of crotch wood yesterday, but I don't know how to cut it.  Since you have the pith in trunk and then a pith in both pieces of the fork.  Can any one help me figure out how to cut these up for blanks.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

This is how i do crotch wood. I rip the log down the middle  so i have two halves including the forks. I then rip the 2 halves in half and quarter saw it up into the stock size that i want. I then remove what is left of the piths.paint the ends and let dry.
