First call from my first cast blank
« on: June 02, 2012, 09:47:41 PM »
I have really wanted to try casting and I finally pulled the pin. About two weeks ago I came across an old paint pot on CL for $25 and jumped. I put a new ball valve and a gauge on it and away we go. I went out to the shop this morning with my seven year old in tow. He adviced me on the colors to choose for the first two test blanks and this is what we ended up with after it was all turned and polished. Poly resin with pearlx pigment

Closed reed predator call

Since it was my first blank and my little man picked the colors I signed the call to him and gave it to him for his collection. Here he is.
