Here's a slate call I made from ambrosia maple.  It has a tung oil finish.  I like worm holes!

What a coincidence! I was on woodcraft checking out the sales a second ago and said to my brother "I think it's time to get some ambrosia maple" then I see this  it's a sign from GOD I need to buy some! :smartass: Freaking awesome as always! The picture is wonderful. You might be a whistle making fool but you are certainly the pot call king in my mind  Sooo CLEAN ~Andre

That wood is sharp.  How does the striker sound?  I was worried about it being to soft.

That's a great looking call. You have a great way of picking out some beautiful wood and then putting to to super use.

Paul I was worried about the same thing.  But honestly the striker plays really well on slate.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Its really not fair.  You should let me take the pictures of your calls, so i can make them look like they were made by a mere human, instead of the turkey call making god that you obviously are.  Your calls are always stunning looking.

I think you should start a monthly, week long clinic on just making turkey calls.  I will come and learn from the master. Monthly!
