Birdseye pot
« on: February 19, 2012, 12:11:13 AM »
Turned one out of birdseye maple.  Slate surface, glass soundboard, several coats of tung oil.  Birdseye striker as well...Thin board so I had to deviate from my normal striker shape a bit.  I bet I haven't made a call from birdseye maple in over two years and I've had three good 6' boards of it in the shop the whole time!  Not sure why, because I like the look of the stuff and maple makes a good pot.
