Bottle Stoppers and Christmas Tree Ornaments
« on: September 23, 2008, 05:49:39 PM »
I've mentioned elsewhere that I've been making some items for my wife to take to a craft show this weekend. Thought I would toss a few pictures of them up just so you know I do spend a bit of time in the shop now and then. These are the bottle stoppers. The picture of them as a group is not great, but you get the idea. I have included a couple of closeups for interest. I inset some dollar coins in some, some new Califorina quarters in some and some new buffalo nickles in some. This was just to be different.  ;D
By the way, all the bottle stoppers and ornaments are made from the Dymondwood from Curtis. Great stuff.

I didn't take a picture of each of the ornaments. Figured it would be just too much. But I did take one of all of them at the same time.

Good work! What is the second ornament on the right made of? Looks like it'd be a really cool light pull  :)

You gotta love wine stoppers!  Your stoppers look great.

justannie, all the ornaments are made from the Dymondwood I got from Curtis. It is great looking stuff, isn't it.

Jerry, I really like the stand you made to hold your stoppers. The one I have is made from styrofoam, and I really don't like it. I really like the looks of yours though. If you don't mind, I'm going to copy it and make one up to use this weekend. Great looking stoppers too!

Nice stuff Braz. I like the idea of using them as light pulls. That's a good idea. Could you hook them up on a chain for a light pull?

John, here is a close up picture of the ornament that justannie was talking about. You can see the top with the hole that the cord runs through. I see no reason why it couldn't be made into a light pull.

No problem with making a stand like that.  I have it set up with the top and bottom rows for the "standard" stoppers and the middle row has a smaller hole for the Berea stopper.  It works out pretty well.
