One for show
« on: January 16, 2008, 08:27:47 PM »
Hey guys,

Well, this spot is empty, we can't have that so I will post a pic of a finished call to get the ball rolling. This one is not for sale or trade, but I sure like the way it turned out so I thought I would share. It is made out of dymondwood, I found the piece in behind my workbench when I cleaned up the other day, and I think it is either Dakota or Royal Jacaranda, not sure. I welcome any feedback, positive or negative. The bottom looks funny due to the cloth the call is sitting on.

Here is a pic of the mouth. It is tapered from 1/2" down to the reed sleeve. (Thanks for the concept Al)

The inside is a little dusty, as I took pics before the final polishing.

Thanks for looking.

Here is the bell, again it is tapered. Goes from about 7/8" to 1/2" inside diameter

I used to know a girl that had a similar figure  ;D

Very nice looking call.  I think the tapered mouth piece helps with air flow and lessons freeze up in the winter.

Thanks for posting the call.

Wonderful call. I love the Dymondwood. I think that may be the Royal Jacaranda, because the Dakota has more green in it. Great shape.

Thanks Al and Braz,

I have not had one of these freeze up yet, they also don't seem to load up with spit like some other designs do. I think the tapered mouth also makes it more versatile with the sounds you can produce as well.

Nice work!  Gotta love that dymondwood!  What do you prefer for a dymondwood finish?

Just polish, polish and polish some more. I do not add any "finish" to dymondwood, just treat it like acrylic.

Gotcha!   ;D

Well, you've polished it so well that I thought it had a finish on it!  NICE WORK!   8)
