claro walnut goose
« on: December 20, 2011, 08:13:27 PM »
Hadn't made a goose call in quite some time, but had a friend request one.  This one is claro walnut with some marbled grain.  CA finish, one of Wade's gutserts and SR1 guts.  Given my limited goose calling talents, I just keep coming back to the SR1's over and over.  I've found that they'll run great for me if I file a hair's thickness off the little posts, to allow the reed to sit back just a bit farther.  This call has a 5/8" bore and blows easy with great volume.

Man KC I'm not very goose calling savvy myself, but that is one of my favorite goose calls I think I've ever seen. I give walnut a bad rap every-now and then, but you can't beat that highly figured stock. Your shape flows like butter with that stuff  I' in awe ~Andre

I like it!  Are you going to let me run it at the turnathon?
