A few Lanyards
« on: September 07, 2008, 11:41:35 PM »
I have been making lanyards for awhile and have had a blast doing it. I can't figure out the pic thing yet but when I do I will post a pic or two. THO game calls website is full of information and I have learned a great deal from browsing on his website. Thank You

Nathan, welcome to the web site. Glad to have you aboard. We would love to see some pictures of your lanyards so we can enjoy your workmanship.

The best way to post pictures is to use Photobucket.com. Get an account and post your pictures there. Then, under the picture, you will see four boxes. Click on the 4th one and it will copy the link. Then just come here and in your post where you want the picture, right click, hit paste, and the picture will appear when you post you topic. Easy.

Alright, I think I got a few pics for you. I am in need of some constructive opinions (good and bad). These are my newest creations and so far they have gone over really well to those who have gotten there hands on them. There is a lot you can adjust on them. You can change calls quickly and even change there places on the lanyard. It comes in handy especially when hunting different places (timber versus open water) from one day to the next.

Nice looking lanyards. I would like to see the pictures a bit larger. Nevertheless, it looks like some fine work. I'm not a duck hunter but it seems to me 8 calls is a bit much. Is that what duck hunters normally carry with them?

Duck hunters usually use 2 drops per call. One for the barrel, and one for the stopper. So for a lanyard that has 8 drops will usaully have 4 calls on it.

I can not see the pics.

Nice looking lanyard SW. I like it. I don't know if duck hunters carry 8 calls or not but I like it. I have 2 4 call lanyards and I still have extra calls in my pockets. LOL.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to get bigger pics on here but I couldn't get them to load onto photobucket any larger. I too only carry 4-6 calls with me. All of these calls can be added and taken off with ease do to  the small clip attached to the lanyard. I had added all the loops to the lanyard just for the picture. Again, you can have 2 calls on the lanyard or as many as you want. Everyone that I have gotten feedback from says they like this option. You can set your calls up with a loop and then add or subtract what you carry depending on what or where you are hunting. For hunting the timber you might want all your double reed timber call and then the next day put your singles on there with a goose call or two and hunt some open water. You get the idea I'm sure. Thanks again for the feedback.

Ok I am getting jelous of all of you that can see the pics. All I see is THis image or video has been moved or deleted.

Being able to add or remove calls with just a clip is a great idea.

The braiding looks great!  And the idea of the swivels to quickly attach or remove the calls is very innovative.  Great looking lanyards. 8)

You won't get money rich in this hobby.  The richness is in the culture, the craft, the friends you meet along the way, and being able to call in a wary game animal with a call that you made with your own hands.

THO IS full of good stuff. I want to get my wife and daughter in here to check out the Lanyard Tutorial Section. They both love to knit and crotchet and we have access to some red and OD cord and I can order some other colors from Al. The way those 2 are, I should have some stock built up in no time. IF I can get them to come take a look.... ::)
