Drying Station
« on: September 17, 2011, 02:03:38 PM »
Hi guys, i am sure there are a ton of different ways that people set their calls aside to dry after using spar, or urethane or Tru-oil.

I am trying to figure out the best way and was wondering how everyone does it.

I currently have cut some wood pieces into sort of tapered triangles ish.  and then pounded them into wood blocks to hold them.  It doesn't look very professional but it gets the job done i guess.

So how does everyone else do it, i would love to find a better way.

Thanks guys.  You all rock.

For deer, duck and goose calls you can remove the spring "handles" from these and use them as hangers.  Their ends will press against the inside of the barrel and you simply hang the loop end from a nail on the bottom of a cabinet, or a wire hook hanging from the ceiling.  Works better than anything I've tried.

For my turkey calls I just set them on painters pyramids, balanced on the center hole.

Yep, I use the handles on the spring clips too. Like was said, just have a bunch of nails or hooks and hang your calls up.

Ingenious.  I was looking at clothes pins yesterday wondering if i could do the same thing.

I see this for 3/4 bored out but what about the 1/2?  The smaller clips?

They'll do an even cleaner job if you sharpen the tips on a grinder.
