Micarta duck call
« on: August 02, 2011, 12:28:42 AM »
Made this one from a piece of linen micarta that a customer sent me to play with.  He actually sent me two...One for him, one for me.  Already made him a goose call from the other piece.  This one is entirely micarta toneboard and all, CA finish, Ron's band.  I always seem to say this, but this call WILL be on my lanyard!  Pretty happy with how this one sounds too.

Yep, it is always so funny when I tell the family I finally made THE call that I'm using forever, haven't stuck with one yet :hysterical:! Great call! Would have never thought of CA finishing that material... I'll need to try it one day... Man ya'll keep "making :innocent:" me start new stuff and I can't keep up, but I'm loving it! ~Andre

Great looking call. I am pretty sure I would have a hard time not putting that on my lanyard.

That lanyard is going to be heavy!  I think that one deserves some field testing.  Very smooth, and the black band is perfect with it.

Thanks everybody.  Crawdad it is a really dark green with light colored linen.  So it looks dark green but if you look real close you see the fabric is a light color.

That stuff is really awesome. When I first saw it it looked solid color till I tipped my laptop screen then I could see the grain. I am going to have to either make some of that stuff or buy some and give it a try. I don't do waterfowl stuff but it would make a really sweet closed reed predator call.

Great looking call Aaron!  That micarta is quickly becoming something I might have to try.
