First Elk call of 2011
« on: July 26, 2011, 06:43:54 PM »
Here's my first cow elk for 2011.  Osage orange with elk antler on top.  Sending out to a buddy in Colorado so hopefully I'll have some harvest pics to share with this one.  I'm really starting to like turning antler.  Oh and it has a CA finish (three coats) which I've definitely made leaps and bounds on.  The best thing I did was switch over to medium CA.  A lot less ridges and high spots to clean up.  Thanks for looking.

Well Crawdad, I don't have the luxury of an air conditioned shop so summertime is usually pretty slow for me.  I also have been super busy at work and just can't get motivated to sweat it out on the lathe.

I'm sure I'll be able to make it to the turn-a-thon this year.  Would be good to see everyone again for sure.  I think this year's is going to be even better than the last.
