Id say 5 was enough. It looks great!!

I cut up a few chunks of pecan a few weeks ago and some of had nice character in it like this. Hope it doesnt split up on me while drying. You are making me anxious to turn some of it.

I've had very very little of it split on me......you should be fine. I thought all pecan was like mine. I've not seen any other posts with pecan calls. Sure, its kinda plain on the outer edges. My wood came from a limb of a very old tree....saw a pic friday from 1928 and it was as tall as the house then. My house. I can find records as far back as 1917. Have an oak in the front yard as well as a sycamore that look almost as old.

I don't know what you did different, but there's something about this one's shape that I like more than almost any other I've seen you make :2: Awesome job! Andre

Love the wood, love the finish, and like Andre said, I really like the shape of this particular one.

When did I ever say your finishes were lacking?????  They're inspiring!

Beautiful call!  I like the sapwood on it, and as usual the finish looks like glass!

I guess I'm gonna have to learn this CA finish!  I've been watching a bunch of videos on youtube and reading a bunch on here...  I guess I just need to try it and let trial and error teach me!!!  Flawless Call as usual!
