Nice clean looking holly!  Beautiful calls.  Just curious, what finish did you use?  Every time I've tried oil based finishes on poly it yellows it to some degree and it would be nice to finish it while still retaining that clean white color.

Im supposed to be making my wife and I some silverware handles from holly. I'm with KC I gotta know what finish you used cause that is really clean and very sharp looking.

I doubt that moisture cure poly would yellow the holly Matt, and I think for silverware that's your only shot of getting it waterproof and durable enough to hold up.  Some of it is clear, some of it has a slight amber/yellow quality to it like poly does.  I guess CA would probably work ok too (I just can't make it look good on a turkey pot!).  Laquer won't yellow it but it isn't a strong finish for turkey calls, let alone silverware!

After thinking about it I will most likely go with the CA finsih for the fact that once its applied it practically there.  It will hold up better to washing better than Laquer would too, I think.  So many projects and so little time. Once the wife found out I could make silverware handles she has all kinds of projects for me now.  :stickman1: In the future you might be seeing more forks and spoons than duck calls posted on here from me.
